P-Shot vs Penile Filler: Which Treatment Fits Your Goal?

The P-Shot and penile filler treat two different goals: the P-Shot uses platelet-rich plasma from your own blood to support erectile function and sensation, while penile filler adds girth and improves shape. The P-Shot works gradually through the body’s own repair signals. Filler works mechanically and shows its result as soon as treatment ends. Men who want both better function and more girth sometimes plan the two treatments together, and at our West Palm Beach office both are performed under the care of Dr. David Dellinger.

What the P-Shot Does

The P-Shot is a regenerative treatment. A small blood sample is drawn, much like a routine lab test. It is spun to concentrate the platelets, which carry growth factors, and that concentrate is injected into specific areas of the penis after the area is numbed. The growth factors are thought to encourage new blood vessel formation and support healthier tissue over time.

Men usually consider the P-Shot for:

  • Firmer, more reliable erections.
  • Improved sensitivity and sensation.
  • Support alongside other ED treatment options.

The whole process happens in one office visit. Because the effect depends on your own tissue responding, improvement builds over the following weeks rather than appearing right away, and some men choose a series of sessions.

What Penile Filler Does

Penile filler is an aesthetic treatment. Filler is placed in small, controlled amounts along the shaft and molded by hand to add girth and a smooth, even contour. It can also define the glans and add scrotal volume. Dr. Dellinger uses a blended filler made for male anatomy, with a temporary component for immediate fullness and a long-lasting component designed for stability. The formula is silicone-free.

Filler does not change blood flow or erectile function. Its job is size and proportion.

How to Decide Which One Fits

Start with the problem you most want to solve.

  • If erections or sensation are the concern, the P-Shot is the more relevant treatment. Size is rarely what limits confidence when function is the issue.
  • If size or proportion is the concern and function is good, penile filler addresses it directly.
  • If both matter to you, the treatments can be planned together. Your provider will recommend the order and timing that makes sense for your health and goals.

Low energy, reduced libido and other changes can point to a hormonal cause. In that case we may also discuss testosterone replacement therapy after the right testing.

What to Expect at Your Visit

Both treatments begin with a private conversation about your goals, health history and current medications. We explain what each option can realistically do for you, and what it cannot, before anything is scheduled.

On treatment day, a numbing agent keeps the area comfortable. For the P-Shot, the blood draw and preparation of the platelet concentrate take place during the same visit. For filler, the injection points are mapped first so the result is balanced. In both cases you go home the same day, with written aftercare instructions.

Recovery for Each Treatment

Mild swelling, tenderness or bruising can follow either treatment and usually settles within days. Your provider will tell you when to resume sexual activity and exercise, which is typically after a short pause. Following those instructions helps filler settle evenly and gives the P-Shot the best conditions to work.

Safety and Side Effects

Both treatments are performed in the office with local numbing, and neither involves an incision. Common side effects are mild and short-lived: swelling, tenderness, bruising at the injection points, and for the P-Shot, a small bruise where blood was drawn. Because the P-Shot uses your own platelets, there is no foreign material and no risk of an allergic reaction to the plasma itself.

With filler, safety depends on what is injected and on the skill of the injector. Uneven placement can create lumps, and silicone or silicone oil, which some offices still inject, can migrate and harden over time. We use a silicone-free formula made for penile tissue, and treatment is performed by a surgeon who also corrects problems caused by earlier injections elsewhere.

Tell your provider about blood thinners, recent infections and any history of scarring or curvature. These details can change the plan or the timing of treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the P-Shot make the penis bigger?

The P-Shot is not designed to add girth. Some men notice a fuller appearance as blood flow improves, but if size is your goal, penile filler is the treatment that adds girth.

Can I get the P-Shot and penile filler together?

Yes, the two can be planned together. Your provider decides the timing based on your goals and how your tissue responds.

Does penile filler help erectile dysfunction?

No. Filler adds girth and shape. It does not improve blood flow or firmness. The P-Shot and other ED treatments address function.

How long until the P-Shot works?

Improvement builds gradually over the weeks after treatment as tissue responds. Results vary from man to man, and some men choose more than one session.
